TikTok Creator Rewards Not Eligible? How Reach Limits Hit Earnings
TikTok says content that isn’t eligible for the For You feed isn’t eligible for the Creator Rewards Program. Here’s how qualified views work, how reach limits cut earnings, and what TikTok doesn’t publish.

Does a reach restriction affect TikTok Creator Rewards?
If a TikTok video shows “not eligible” for Creator Rewards, reach and money are the same problem. TikTok’s official policy pages don’t use the word “shadowban,” but they do document For You feed (FYF) ineligibility: content that doesn’t meet its FYF standards stays on your profile yet isn’t recommended in the For You feed. For the Creator Rewards Program (CRP), TikTok ties the two together explicitly:
That's why content ineligible for the For You feed will not be eligible for the Creator Rewards ProgramTikTok Creator Academy — Creator Rewards Program
So a video TikTok won’t recommend is also a video it won’t reward. Separately, TikTok’s video requirements say an eligible video “should rack up at least 1,000 views on the For You feed” — a threshold that is hard to hit when recommendation is limited. If you’re new to the underlying mechanism, start with does TikTok shadowban exist, then come back here for the money side.
What counts as a qualified view?
CRP rewards are calculated on qualified views, not on the raw view count under your video. TikTok’s Creator Academy lists the rules:
| Rule | What TikTok says |
|---|---|
| Watch time | At least five seconds; quicker views don’t count. |
| Viewer feedback | Views with an “I’m not interested” tap aren’t included; disliked views are excluded. |
| Uniqueness | Multiple views from the same account count as one. |
| Search | Search views count if watch time is at least 30 seconds. |
| Region | Views must come from the program’s countries: the United States, Mexico, Brazil, South Korea, Japan, Germany, the United Kingdom and France. |
| Paid or artificial | Fraudulent and paid views, ads, paid promotions and sponsored content are excluded; views from View Boost Benefit don’t count. |
Two practical takeaways. First, a video can look busy yet earn little if many views are very short, repeat viewers, or from outside the eight countries. Second, the 1,000-view gate is specifically For You feed views, which is why FYF eligibility matters so much. TikTok does count long Search views as qualified, but it doesn’t say whether Search views can rescue a video that is FYF ineligible — and since it states that FYF-ineligible content isn’t eligible for the program at all, you shouldn’t assume they will.
Why is my video not eligible for Creator Rewards?
A video can fail at two levels: the program’s own format rules, or the broader FYF and policy standards. TikTok says an eligible video must be original, high-quality content over 1 minute long; can’t be a Duet or Stitch; can’t be made with Photo Mode; can’t be an ad, paid promotion or sponsored content; and must follow the program’s terms, Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, Creator Code of Conduct and Copyright Policy.
The originality rule overlaps directly with FYF eligibility. TikTok’s Integrity and Authenticity guidelines already make unoriginal, reused material posted without anything new ineligible for the For You feed, and the CRP page lists “Unoriginal” first among ineligible factors: content “copied from others or has minimal original input or edits.” It also names low quality (split screens, meaningless reactions, low-quality images, slide videos), clickbait, inappropriate or disturbing content, and suspicious activity such as artificial engagement. We cover the repost problem in watermarks, reposts and reach, and the full FYF list in TikTok’s For You feed Eligibility Standards.
Where to look: TikTok says you can view video disqualifications in your TikTok Inbox and on your Creator Rewards Program dashboard. For recommendation status, TikTok says its analytics show whether a video was made ineligible for recommendation, and Creator Academy’s moderation guide says a warning bar appears on that video’s Performance tab.
Can reach problems disqualify your whole account?
Yes — repeated ineligible videos can escalate from a per-video loss to an account-level one. TikTok states:
If your account has 5 or more ineligible videos in the past 30 days, it may be disqualified. Successfully appealing ineligible videos may help reinstate your account in the Creator Rewards Program.TikTok Creator Academy — What videos are eligible for Creator Rewards Program?
The eligibility pages add two thresholds: a content violation threshold of 5 video violations in the past 30 days, and an account violation threshold of 5 total account violations, which TikTok says makes an account permanently ineligible for the program. If your TikTok account is permanently banned, TikTok says you forfeit any outstanding rewards; if you successfully appeal and the account is recovered, you’re automatically reinstated.
Joining also requires an account in good standing, at least 18 years old, a public Personal account (not Business), and at least 10,000 followers plus 100,000 video views in the last 30 days. TikTok says it “will periodically review accounts for eligibility.” It doesn’t publish whether falling below the 100,000-view figure after joining removes you from the program, so treat that as unconfirmed.
How much does lower reach cost you?
TikTok does not publish a payout rate, so no one outside TikTok can tell you an exact figure per 1,000 views. What it does publish is the structure. Total rewards are a Standard Reward plus an Additional Reward. The Standard Reward “is calculated based on qualified views,” and TikTok adds:
Your payout depends on audience metrics such as the regions your viewers come from and the language of your content.TikTok Creator Academy — Finding Creator Rewards Program success
The Additional Reward is tied to content quality and performance — watch time, retention rate, completion rate and search value. Together they set your RPM, which TikTok defines as “average gross revenue per 1k qualified views.”
The link to reach is therefore mechanical, not mysterious: fewer qualified views means a smaller Standard Reward base, and a video that is FYF ineligible earns nothing from the program. Any specific RPM you see quoted online is a creator report or third-party estimate, not official TikTok data.
Which Creator Rewards myths should you drop?
| Myth | What TikTok actually says |
|---|---|
| “Joining Creator Rewards gets you shadowbanned.” | TikTok says your content’s performance and following won’t be affected when you join the program. |
| “Every view on my video pays.” | Only qualified views count: 5+ seconds, unique, from the eight program countries, no paid or fraudulent views, and Search views count at 30+ seconds. |
| “There’s a fixed rate per 1,000 views.” | TikTok publishes no fixed rate. Payout depends on viewer regions, content language and performance metrics. |
| “Low views mean I’m banned from the program.” | Ineligibility is shown per video in your Inbox and CRP dashboard. Low views don’t get your account removed from the program, but a video under 1,000 For You feed views won’t earn. |
| “Once disqualified, it’s permanent.” | Most TikTok pages give 80 days for video appeals and 30 for account appeals (one TikTok FAQ says 30 for both). TikTok names permanent program ineligibility at 5 total account violations. |
What should you do if a video is not eligible?
- Read the notice. Check your Inbox and the CRP dashboard for the specific video and reason.
- Check recommendation status. Open the video’s analytics; TikTok says ineligibility for recommendation shows there. Our guide to reading TikTok analytics for reach walks through it.
- Appeal if you believe it’s wrong. Most TikTok pages allow video appeals within 80 days and account appeals within 30 days (one TikTok FAQ says 30 days for both, so appeal as soon as possible), one appeal per disqualification. It suggests explaining clearly why the decision was an error and, optionally, adding images from your production process with personal information removed. Account appeal reviews take up to 14 days, per TikTok. See how to appeal a TikTok decision.
- Fix the pattern, not just the post. Because 5 ineligible videos in 30 days may disqualify the account, prioritize originality and format rules on the next uploads.
- Keep videos public. TikTok says deleted or private videos are excluded from the program and their rewards aren’t paid out. If an appeal succeeds, rewards are included in the next payout cycle.
If your rewards dropped but no video shows as ineligible, the cause may simply be fewer qualified views. Questions, answered.
Why does my TikTok video say not eligible for Creator Rewards?
Usually because it misses a program rule or TikTok’s For You feed standards. TikTok says eligible videos must be original, over 1 minute, reach 1,000 For You feed views, not be a Duet, Stitch, Photo Mode post or ad, and follow its policies. Content ineligible for the For You feed isn’t eligible for the program.
Do FYF-ineligible videos earn Creator Rewards?
No. TikTok’s Creator Academy states that content ineligible for the For You feed will not be eligible for the Creator Rewards Program. TikTok doesn’t say whether Search views could count for such a video, so assume an FYF-ineligible video earns nothing from the program unless an appeal succeeds.
What is a qualified view on TikTok?
A qualified view is one TikTok counts toward Creator Rewards: watched at least five seconds, not marked “not interested,” counted once per account, from one of the eight program countries, and not paid, fraudulent or promoted. Search views count when watched for at least 30 seconds.
How much does TikTok pay per 1,000 views?
TikTok doesn’t publish a fixed rate. It says Standard Reward depends on qualified views, viewer regions and content language, and Additional Reward depends on watch time, retention, completion and search value. Any specific RPM figure online is a creator report or estimate, not official TikTok data.
Does joining the Creator Rewards Program reduce my reach?
TikTok says no: your content’s performance and your following won’t be affected when you join. If reach dropped after joining, look at For You feed eligibility and your analytics instead. A free visibility check gives an estimate for recent posts.
Can I get back into Creator Rewards after disqualification?
It’s possible. Most TikTok pages allow video appeals within 80 days and account appeals within 30 days (one TikTok FAQ says 30 for both, so don’t wait), and TikTok says successfully appealing ineligible videos may help reinstate your account. The exception is 5 total account violations, which TikTok says makes an account permanently ineligible for the program.
